Maybe it's a motivational ploy or Rex Ryan has some friends close to the front office that have told him a decision has been made on his future, but he reportedly told the Jets players on Saturday night that he thinks he will be fired.
It wouldn't come as a huge shock. The writing was on the wall when the team brought in a new general manager, John Idzik. Ryan seemed to be in trouble even before the season started. A solid season, with a 6-8 season so far with rookie quarterback Geno Smith, perhaps didn't help him enough.
According to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer, Ryan told his team about the Jets' plans for him.

If Ryan is fired after the season, he won't be unemployed long. He's a highly respected defensive coach, and at very least he'll get a prime coordinator job. He'll probably get consideration for some head-coaching opportunities as well, considering he has had some success with the Jets.
Or, perhaps Ryan is hopeful that his team plays very well in the final two games and saves his job. If the decision isn't made already.
