Peyton Manning knows how to keep teams from spying on his snap counts

Peyton Manning is slowly re-emerging after his disastrous Super Bowl, and he's looking in midseason public-appearance form. Here, he talks with David Letterman about the whole "Omaha" storyline from last year, and Manning blames the parabolic mikes for picking up every utterance of his.

Manning's ingenious solution? Start slipping a few shots at Commissioner Goodell into his snap count. (If he's looking for material, he could visit Twitter and check out the disastrous results of the #AskCommish Q&A with Goodell on Tuesday.) Hey, it's better than a Papa John's plug.

"Make yourself seem a lot smarter than you are," Manning said of his guiding philosophy while under center. "I can hear the fans saying, 'Just snap the ball!'"
