Nick Foles knocked out with head injury, replaced by Matt Barkley for Eagles

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles was having a pretty awful afternoon when he was seen leaving the sideline with an injury.Matt Barkley replaced him in what would become a 17-3 Dallas Cowboys victory and somehow played worse.

Foles was ruled out for the remainder of the game with what was called a head injury. He was not made available for interviews after the game, so the suspicion is that he was tested for a concussion.

Foles was replaced by the rookie Barkley, who slipped to Round 4 of the draft, making his NFL debut. Barkley struggled badly, completing 11-of-20 passes for 129 yards and three interceptions, including his final pass in the end zone.

With Michael Vick out, the Eagles were so shorthanded at quarterback that tight end/H-back James Casey was listed as the third quarterback.

When Foles left the game, the Eagles had not scored a point yet and he had completed a mere 11-of-29 passes for only 80 yards, with a few near interceptions. Despite running 75 offensive plays, the Eagles totaled a miserable 278 yards of offense in the loss.
