Logan Mankins, Patrick Chung headline late-game NFL inactive lists

Shutdown Corner

The New England Patriots will not have Pro Bowl left guard Logan Mankins for Sunday's game against the New York Jets. Listed as "questionable" with calf and hip injuries, the Patriots placed Mankins on their inactive list for Sunday's game, with Donald Thomas the most likely candidate to replace him in the starting lineup.

New England will also be without both of the starting safeties. Steve Gregory had been ruled "out" on Friday with a hip injury and Patrick Chung, who was "questionable" with a shoulder injury will also not play against Mark Sanchez and the Jets. 2012 second-round pick Tavon Wilson will start at one safety spot and he could be joined in the back-end of the secondary by Devin McCourty.
