Johnny Manziel wearing camouflage for pro day; throws in pads, helmet

Johnny Manziel pro day camo

Don't say Johnny Manziel isn't a showman.

Pro days are boring, scripted affairs, yadda yadda ... it's true. For most guys.

But Manziel, who attracted hordes of media, scouts, coaches and onlookers to watch his throwing affair on Thursday also were in for a spectacle.

Manziel threw for scouts in a helmet and pads. That's very unusual. Most QB prospects opt for shorts and nothing on their heads.

Manziel has yet to play an NFL game, and he might already be an innovator.

As for his other sartorial choices, there's this: camouflage shorts with the high white socks. Oustanding touch.

And, well, Nike is already cashing in on their latest pitchman with the "Johnny Manziel Pro Day Collection." Seriously. That exists. And they're selling it.

What it all says, I don't know, and some coaches might be turned off by it. But you know what? Manziel doesn't hide from who he is. Dude appears to be as transparent as they come.
