Tight end Martellus Bennett had a career year for the New York Giants in 2012, and the free agent will be taking his talents to Chicago, it seems. The source for the news was Bennett himself, via Twitter:

Well, not an official signing, but an agreement in principle. Bennett is on his way to Chicago to get that deal done. And Marshall isn't Bennett's actual brother -- the two pass-catchers are just good friends. However, Bennett's actual brother Michael, formerly a defensive end for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is also a free agent.
Bennett had career highs with 55 receptions, 626 yards and five touchdowns in 2012, and he also bulked up to become one of the NFL's better blocking tight ends. The Bears could use help in both categories. Their offensive line has long been a sieve, especially when it comes to pass-blocking, and Kellen Davis led the Bears' tight ends last season with 19 receptions on 44 targets for 229 yards and two touchdowns.
Selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round of the 2008 draft out of Texas A&M, Bennett has put up 140 catches for 1,472 yards and nine touchdowns in 48 starts in his NFL career.
