It doesn't have anything to do with Christmas, but this is a time of year when a lot of us are thinking of people we love and appreciate. We're thinking about the blessings in our own lives.
Devin Hester did that Monday night, too, and he was kind enough to let the whole world see. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy.
Anyone with that much appreciation and love for his teammates has a fan in me.
While we're here, let's take a look at the record-breaking touchdown.
It's striking in how effortless it seems. I know part of it was the poor, uninspired coverage by the Vikings, but look at Hester. He immediately spots the turkey hole in the coverage, gets to top speed almost immediately, and just like that, boom: blue ribbon like Wilbur at the county fair.
Given his age, Hester's got a chance to put this record completely out of reach by the time his career is over.
It's a tremendous achievement for the man, and I got even happier for him when I saw and heard his sincerity in expressing appreciation for his teammates.
