Dallas Cowboys safety Barry Church misses practice due to accident with Jolly Rancher candy

Dallas Cowboys safety Barry Church missed practice with an injury. How did he injure himself? Well, you won't believe this one:

Yep, a NFL player was out of practice because of a mishap with a Jolly Rancher hard candy. They really need to put a warning label on those things.

According to the Associated Press' report, Church was eating a cherry flavored Jolly Rancher about a week before camp, and chipped a tooth. He had some pain since then, and then on Monday when he woke up it was unbearable. He missed a walkthrough and a full practice to get a root canal.

Church told AP that when he can eat candy again he'll "stick to the soft stuff." That's what nine out of 10 NFL athletic trainers recommend anyway.
