New York Jets tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson was falling to the turf after laying a huge block when his size-17 left foot swung in the air and hit Patrick Chung of the New England Patriots in the facemask. Ferguson's cleat wedged in Chung's helmet and ripped it off, temporarily giving the massive lineman an additional appendage.
The 310-pounder needed help from an official to dislodge the shoe from the helmet. It took four or five tries to get the shoe free.
Ahh, just like in "The Thorn Birds."
