Rex Ryan is trying to bury the [expletive] hatchet with Tony Dungy.
Days after the New York Jets coach was heavily criticized by Dungy for cursing too much during the first episode of HBO's reality show, "Hard Knocks," Ryan left a voicemail for the NBC analyst inviting him to attend a practice to see what his team is really like.
"I felt he unfairly judged me, and that was disappointing to me," Ryan told reporters Wednesday. "I'm a good person."
The former Indianapolis Colts coach told Dan Patrick earlier in the week that he wouldn't hire Ryan because of his constant use of profanity. He also said that Roger Goodell should speak to the Jets coach because he might give youngsters the impression that cursing paves the road to success.
"It's none of Dungy's business," he told a Philadelphia radio station.
Tony, when Buddy Ryan is the voice of reason, it's best to move on. Let Rex Ryan run his team the way he wants to run his team.
