Cleveland Browns might be forced to go with Jason Campbell or Brian Hoyer if Brandon Weeden’s thumb is not OK

Cleveland Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski once turned Derek Anderson into a Pro Bowler, so perhaps this is much ado about nothing.

But Chud is facing a quarterback choice of either Jason Campbell or Brian Hoyer as his starter in case Brandon Weeden is forced out of the lineup with a sprained thumb.

"I'm going to keep all of our options open,'' Chudzinski said. "We have two options: Jason and Brian.''

Simple as that.

Weeden is day-to-day with the injury, having suffered it in Sunday's loss to the Ravens. He hit it on another player's helmet, perhaps that of teammate John Greco.

Campbell replaced Weeden in the game and completed one of his four pass attempts for 6 yards. Weeden had been moderately effective, completing 21 of 33 passes for 227 yards, with no touchdowns or interceptions.

The Browns are 0-2 and have scored 16 points in the losses to the Dolphins and Ravens. The Factory of Sadness appears to have few locatable exits.
