Cincinnati Bengals wideout Chris Henry has passed away as a result of injuries suffered when he fell out of the back of a truck in North Carolina. Henry's condition was listed as "dire," last night, and reports from Henry's agent indicated that Henry was "fighting for his life". Henry jumped into the back of a pickup truck which was being driven away by his fiancee. Henry was found on the road having suffered life-threatening injuries.
Henry was transported to Carolinas Medical Center, where he passed away at 6:36 a.m. Thursday. He was 26 years old.
Henry was placed on injured reserve with a broken forearm he suffered in a Nov. 8 game against the Baltimore Ravens. He is in the last year of his new Bengals contract -- he was previously released by the team as his troubled past caught up to him.
Our thoughts and prayers go to Henry's friends and family, and to the Bengals organization. We will keep you updated as events warrant.
