Backup quarterbacks get no love. Even when they become starters.
Josh McCown is an 11-year NFL veteran who was thrust into the Chicago Bears' starting role when Jay Cutler was lost to a serious groin injury against the Washington Redskins. And McCown acquitted himself rather well, too, given the circumstances.
But that doesn't mean Bears fans quite know who is he is just yet. As the game played out, they took to Twitter to discuss the play of ... former Bears first-round bust Cade McNown, per CBS Chicago.
Oh sure, it has been 11 years since McNown last took a snap in the NFL, and 13 since his short-lived Bears career ended. But that didn't stop some dyslexic fans from jumbling letters and losing the last decade of time.
Yes Mr. Cade Mcnown! Bye bye Jay Cutler you soft little girl!

Yes, McNown was THAT. BAD. At least in Bears fans' minds. Never mind that McNown is most famous for once dating Playboy bunnies and models, or that he how is a VP at an investment firm on the West Coast.
At least McCown wasn't confused with one of his football-playing brothers, Luke or the mostly forgotten Randy, who was sort of the Daniel Baldwin of that family, as far as playing prowess go.
But it apparently is going to take a lot for McCown to exorcise the demons of McNown. Sadly, with Cutler out, he'll get his chance. Basically, no one wins in this deal.
