Buffalo Bills, New York Giants to meet in Hall of Fame game to kick off preseason

We have actual football we can plan for in the 2014 NFL season.

The Buffalo Bills and New York Giants will meet in the annual Hall of Fame Game at Fawcett Stadium in Canton, Ohio on Sunday, August 3 at 8:00 PM ET. The game will be broadcast on NBC, and on WestwoodOne Radio as well.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame will induct former Bills receiver Andre Reed and former Giants defensive end Michael Strahan the night before, along with five other members of the Class of 2014 — linebacker Derrick Brooks, punter Ray Guy, defensive end Claude Humphery, offensive tackle Walter Jones and cornerback-safety Aeneas Williams.

Another interesting connection for the two New York-based teams: their head coaches, the Giants' Tom Coughlin and the Bills' Doug Marrone, are both Syracuse grads.

The extra preseason game should be big for Marrone, quarterback EJ Manuel and the Bills as Manuel missed much of the preseason and parts of the regular season a year ago with a knee injury. Manuel will face off against two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning, who should receive three snaps or so in the game.
