Other rare talents Owens has include football and modeling. We'll start with the football. Terrell Owens told Jay Glazer yesterday that he plans to play three or four more years.
“Realistically I could see at least two to three,” said Owens. “I want to be able to walk away from this game under my own power and when I feel it’s time to walk away, not trying to prolong or there aren’t any milestones I want to accomplish. I just want to try to compete and help the team win a championship. So if I can do that for the next couple of years then I’ll be satisfied.”
That sounds about right. Owens has only been productive in short bursts this season, but I don't think that has much to do with his ability. It's more about the ability (or lack thereof) of the rest of the offense in Buffalo. Maybe Owens has lost a step and is a shade off of what he once was, but I have no doubt that he can produce for a while longer.
His production won't be limited to the football field, though. He'll also be producing on the runway. He signed with some modeling agency yesterday.
"Well, I'm always putting my hands in and feeding into something," Owens said after practice Wednesday, noting Wilhelmina approached him with the offer. "When you've got some good looks like myself, you've got to take full advantage of it."
If you say so, buddy. I have no idea of Owens' ability as a model, but I will say this: The man knows how to pick out a hat.
