49ers tight end Vernon Davis scores and then hits the wall – literally

There were plenty of ways San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis could have celebrated his fifth consecutive touchdown this season during a 33-14 victory against Tampa Bay on Sunday.

Crashing into a wall should be eliminated from Davis' list.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick dropped back to attempt a pass late in the second quarter and Davis was running a deep post route. Kaepernick unleased a pass and connected with Davis, who had blown past Bucs safety Mark Barron. Davis scored on a 52-yard reception.

He just could not stop his momentum.

Davis continued running full steam and straight into the wall at the back of the end zone. The tight end bounced off the wall and fell to the ground. Davis was down for a few moments before eventually getting up.

Of course, his teammates proceeded to smack his helmet, which is a great way to aggravate any possibly injury Davis could have sustained during that play. Luckily, for Davis, he continued to play after hitting the wall.

Davis then proceeded to celebrate – the right way.
