Wisconsin head coach Gary Andersen brought in a mentor of his, longtime Utah and Weber State head coach Ron McBride, in to address his team during preseason camp. McBride recruited Andersen and was his head coach at Utah, so he knows the Badgers’ second-year coach more than most.
After McBride addressed the team about trust and team work, some archival footage of a young Andersen doing offensive line drills under McBride’s instruction was put on the screen. Andersen rocks a buzz cut now, but back in his heyday, the man had an incredible mullet.
Take a look (the good stuff starts around the 3:45 mark).
Andersen’s hair is a sight to see. But those shorts? I don’t think anyone would disagree when I said that they are a little bit too short.
Andersen’s Badgers will open the season with a tough matchup against LSU in Houston on August 30. Unfortunately, I don’t think his mullet will be in attendance.
