Voicemails to Manti Te’o from Lennay Kekua/Ronaiah Tuiasosopo released adding to an already confusing story (AUDIO)

The revelation that Te’o’s fake girlfriend was actually Ronaiah Tuiasosopo posing as Lennay Kekua was shocking, but hearing Tuiasosopo's voice on several voicemails that aired during Te’o's interview with Katie Couric on Thursday just puts this story over the top.

Couric released voicemails from Te'o's phone, but pulled them from her site. However, not before Deadspin cloned a few of them for the world to hear.

And what we’re hearing sounds very much like a female voice, which makes this story even stranger.

In the first voicemail, Kekua is talking before her first chemotherapy session:

In the second voicemail, Kekua is jealous thinking that Te’o has a girl in his room. Yes, the fake girlfriend accused Te'o of having another fake girlfriend:

And the third voicemail is from Sept. 11, 2012, the day Kekua was supposedly released from the hospital and the day before she supposedly died:

You decide for yourself whether the voice belongs to a woman or a man. Afterward, feel free to throw up a little in your mouth knowing that Tuiasosopo is claiming that he’s the young woman on the other end of the line. No one who has been in contact with Tuiasosopo before or since has mentioned his effeminate voice, which leaves two theories: He's lying; or he's incredibly talented with voice manipulating software.

Either way, this story makes for a bad made-for-TV movie.

If it really is him, that’s some impressive stuff. Yes, Te’o is still incredibly gullible and has questionable judgment, but you can’t fault him for believing the voice on the other end was a woman.
