Wide receiver Chris Conley has proven to be a pretty reliable target on the field for Georgia throughout his career, but he has also showed that he has some serious skills away from the football field as well.
It was last November when Conley, a self-described nerd, was trying to arrange Star Wars-style light saber duels on UGA’s campus. The idea took off and Conley ended up writing, directing and starring in his very own Star Wars fan film.
We showed you the trailer for the film, titled “Retribution,” in April. Over the weekend, the finished 26 minute film hit the internet.
The whole thing is really impressive and well-made. It features light saber duels all over the Georgia campus and even on the field at Sanford Stadium. Best of all, there’s even a cameo from head coach Mark Richt (at the 15 minute mark).
It’s well worth your time.
The 6-foot-3, 206-pound Conley led the Bulldogs with 45 catches and 651 yards last season as a junior, so the NFL could certainly be in Conley’s future. If that doesn’t work out, he certainly has a fallback plan in the film world.
