Visa released a new commercial this week, timed to coincide with the NFL draft, featuring former Missouri defensive end Michael Sam asking viewers to judge him based on what he does on the football field instead of his personal life.

Sam, the 2013 SEC Defensive Player of the Year, revealed in February that he is gay. He is projected as a linebacker in the NFL and worked at the position in January at the Senior Bowl. He isn't expected to be selected until the third day of the draft Saturday when rounds 4-7 are conducted. When he is picked, he will become the first openly gay player in the NFL.
