Arkansas' Joe Adams is no stranger to making opponents look ridiculous on punt returns. But the winding now-you-see-him-now-you-don't runback he broke Saturday against Tennessee? Give me a break:
Since we didn't have replay here — and you're probably too busy rolling your jaw up from the floor to count, anyway — let's break down the missed tackles, one by one:
Give him one more past a diving Vol along the sideline for seven — seven broken tackles in the course of a play, or more than half of the Tennessee punt team by himself, which in some states may legally qualify Adams as a warlock.
The only thing missing: Necessity. Arkansas already led when Adams went all pinball wizard and was well on its way to a 49-7 rout that never threatened to become competitive. Adams also hauled in a 40-yard touchdown catch that extended the Razorbacks' lead to 35-7 in the third quarter — just another day at the office as the Hogs move to 9-1 en route to their season-ending showdown with LSU on Nov. 25. Hey, the Tigers remember Joe Adams. And he remembers them, too.
