The flood of injury news about college linebackers continues.
Monday evening, Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin said LB Shaan Washington would be out 4-6 weeks with a broken collarbone.
Washington played in 12 games as a true freshman last year for A&M and had 26 tackles. He was tied with Gavin Stansbury for the team lead in sacks in 2013 with three. Stansbury transferred to Houston in July.
Washington was a three-star recruit as an athlete in the class of 2013 according to Rivals.
He's not the only defensive starter that could be missing A&M's season-opener against South Carolina either. According to AggieYell.com, Sumlin said that CB De'Vante Harris has an "intestinal tract injury." His status for the opener is unknown. Harris was suspended last year for the first two games of the season. He had 56 tackles in 11 games last season.
