We’ve talked before about not poking the bear – not taunting Alabama – because it never works out well.
But no one ever seems to listen.
Not only has some lumber store in Tennessee poked papa bear, it do so with poor grammar.
Witt Lumber, in Knoxville, posted “Dear Mr. Saban. Your next. Vol Nation.” On the marquee in front of the store.
The sign isn’t even original enough for us to ignore the improper usage of the word “your,” which should be “you are” or “you’re” next.
I get Tennessee fans are amped after the big win against South Carolina last weekend, but this is the two-time national champion we’re talking about, a team that has outscored its conference opponents at home 77-0.
Ole Miss quarterback Bo Wallace poked the bear and his team was shutout 25-0 and Kentucky running back Jojo Kemp guaranteed his team would score on the Tide (which they did), but still lost 48-7.
Of course, this is a store challenging Alabama and not a specific player. Still, all parties should just keep quiet when it’s Alabama week. It’s just better that way.
