College football's quirkiness was on full display on the final Saturday of September. The last week before conference play begins in earnest across the nation gave us some memorable moments, especially in the SEC.
It's the first weekend of fall, so maybe it was appropriate that Arkansas coach Bret Bielema took one during his team's pregame Hog Walk against Texas A&M? The Razorbacks fell on the field too against Johnny Manziel and company.
That was only slightly more embarrassing as the dog who got painted like an LSU Tiger. Poor dog has no idea what it's in for rooting for the opposite species.
Katherine Webb likely knew what she'd be in for on social media when this picture with AJ McCarron's mother was posted. Does it mean the rumors of the breakup between Webb and McCarron are false? No. But it also doesn't mean they're true either.

In that Alabama game Webb was attending, Ole Miss's CJ Johnson got hit in the right eye with the referee's penalty flag while he was chasing McCarron. The flag even got hung up in Johnson's facemask as he went to the turf. Thankfully, Johnson walked off the field shortly after being attended to, but the incident conjured up memories of Jeff Triplette and Orlando Brown.
LSU's Odell Beckham Jr. caught a touchback one-handed, which is an incredible feat, but later in the game he dropped a punt off of his facemask and Georgia recovered and scored a touchdown. The Bulldogs won 44-41.
Tennessee stopped South Alabama late in the fourth quarter to hold on for a 31-24 win, but had Michael Palardy's kick gone in earlier in the game, Vols fans may not have experienced any heartburn. At first glance, it looks like it was blocked. But if you watch closely, the ball was never touched. It just was a shank.
