Less than a month after UCLA announced a six-year contract extension with head coach Jim Mora after Washington was hot on his tail, Mora’s name has been connected to another prominent opening.

Multiple outlets are reporting that the University of Texas is very interested in Mora as a candidate for its head coaching position.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Brett McMurphy reported that Texas and Mora representatives had conversations on Thursday, but “a source close to Mora” denied there was any contact.

Football Scoop then tweeted that they had heard the same thing.

Soon after, Chip Brown of reported that Texas’ search is now focusing squarely on Mora and that Mora will interview with the school in the next few days.

Other names like Louisville’s Charlie Strong, Vanderbilt’s James Franklin, and Baylor’s Art Briles, among others, have been linked to the job. Stay tuned.
