Oklahoma tweets April Fool's joke stating Blake Bell is moving back to quarterback

Oh, Oklahoma. You didn't have us fooled for a second.

The Sooners tweeted a picture teasing a move back to quarterback for Blake Bell on Tuesday. When viewed in preview form, it said "Blake Bell switches back to QB." When viewed fully, it looked like what it does below.

We won't explain how tired internet April Fool's jokes are, but for them to work, they need to be at least somewhat believable. This wasn't in the slightest.

After Trevor Knight's incredible performance in the Sugar Bowl, coach Bob Stoops announced Bell, once viewed as the heir apparent to Landry Jones, would be moving to tight end. It's a position switch that's been less than two months in the making. There's no way Oklahoma would give up on it so quickly.

Plus, it also conveys the idea that Knight has struggled throughout spring practice and the school needs Bell back at quarterback for insurance. Is an April Fool's joke a good enough reason to make people wonder if your starting quarterback or the guys in line behind him need a competitor?

Try us again next year, OU.
