Mizzou’s director of video operations charged a $7,600 strip club bill to his university credit card

Well, at least Mizzou is winning at the strip clubs.

According to a university audit, Mizzou director of video operations Michael Schumacher had to repay $7,605.50 for two credit charges from May 5, 2011 at a Las Vegas strip club called Olympic Gardens.

The charges included a $2,000 tip on a $4,400 bill. Yes, this was billed on a university credit card and it must have been some pretty good service.

Per the Associated Press, Schumacher was representing the university at a professional conference, but traveled alone. University spokesman Chad Moller told the AP that, "responsive and appropriate disciplinary action was taken" with regards to the bill, but that he couldn't elaborate on personnel matters.

Thanks to Schumacher's entertainment spending — along with a couple other charges found during a Pricewaterhouse Coopers audit on Aug. 14 — Missouri has had to crack down on its employees and their corporate credit card use.

OK, why would you, a) spend that much money at a strip club, and b) be dumb enough to pay for it with your corporate card? The out-of-date bio on Mizzou's website doesn't say whether Schumacher is/was married, but maybe that had something to do with it? I don't know the prices of the high-class strippers on the Vegas strip, but this seems extreme. Did he park in the champagne room for six hours? Was he drinking "jumbo" glasses of alcohol?

I'm sure this isn't the first time a corporate credit card has been used for something like this, but I'm wondering how many of those folks racked up a $7,600 bill — by themselves — and I wonder how many of those people are still employed?
