After Ole Miss defeated LSU on a late-field goal Saturday to win 27-24, it received the Magnolia Bowl trophy, which is given to the winner of the game between the two teams.
And Ole Miss promptly broke it.
The trophy, given out since 2008, has a magnolia flower mounted on the wood base, and at some point during the Rebels' celebration it got detached from that base. Do we need to put out an APB for the flower?
This is what it's supposed to look like.
It was the first time the Rebels had beaten LSU since 2009, so you can't blame them for being unfamiliar with the trophy. Or maybe they were mimicking Alabama, who broke the 2011 BCS trophy?
The trophy wasn't the only thing that Ole Miss struggled with after the win. Two lineman armed with a Gatorade bucket do douse coach Hugh Freeze had a hard time tracking him down before they were able to execute the dousing.
