Florida’s Antonio Morrison out for season, becomes tenth UF player lost to season-ending injury

This is getting ridiculous.

Florida head coach Will Muschamp announced Monday that starting linebacker Antonio Morrison will miss the rest of the season with a torn meniscus. Morrison is the tenth player the Gators have lost to a season-ending injury, seven of whom were starters.

The sophomore had 56 tackles on the season, a season where it seems that everything has gone wrong for the Gators. A loss to Vanderbilt Saturday dropped the Gators to 4-5 overall and 3-4 in the SEC.

Fans have begun to call for the firing of Muschamp as the team’s first losing season since 1979 is looking like a strong possibility.

Florida will also likely be without offensive tackle D.J. Humphries at South Carolina this weekend. Humphries sprained his knee two weeks ago and is listed as doubtful.
