Erin Andrews is leaving college football

DANCING WITH THE STARS - Erin Andrews joins "Dancing with the Stars" as host alongside Emmy-Award Winner(r) Tom Bergeron for its 18th season premiering MONDAY, MARCH 17 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET). No stranger to the ballroom, Andrews competed on the 10th season of "Dancing with the Stars" making it all the way to the finals. Known for being a pioneer in sports broadcasting, Andrews's skills from the field are sure to be an asset in hosting a spirited dance competition. This season, the show also welcomes new Music Director and Composer Ray Chew to the ballroom. Continuing a tradition of live musical accompaniment, Chew's band will feature a new line-up of musicians and singers performing music ranging from the latest pop hits to the great standards of the past. Today is a sad day for college football fans everywhere as Erin Andrews will no longer be covering the sport.

I’ll give you a moment to digest that and compose yourself.

According to's Richard Deitsch, Andrews' move to the No. 1 sideline reporter for Fox’s NFL coverage means that she will not be available for college football duties. Andrews had been the host of Fox Sports 1’s college football pregame show last year.

Those who have followed Andrews’ career know she made a name for herself as a college football sideline reporter with ESPN. She was assigned to ESPN’s and ABC’s top games and even hosted the first hour of ESPN’s College GameDay program on ESPNU before her move to Fox.

Earlier this week, Fox announced that Andrews would become the network’s top NFL sideline reporter replacing stalwart Pam Oliver, who was demoted to the No. 2 role. Andrews will work alongside the crew of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman.
