With second-ranked Oregon coming to Boulder as a ridiculous 40.5 favorite, Colorado had to pull out all the stops to just keep the game competitive.
After trying (and failing) an onside kick to begin the game, the Buffaloes again reached into the bag of tricks, pulling off a wide receiver reverse pass that resulted in a 75-yard touchdown.
After taking the reverse, Buffs receiver Paul Richardson, while showing off less-than-stellar arm strength, tossed a wobbler to a wide open D.D. Goodson who took it the rest of the way.
It will probably be Colorado’s only highlight of the day, as the Ducks have stormed back with three straight touchdown drives to take a 29-13 second quarter lead that they are unlikely to relinquish.
Good job, good effort, Colorado.
