Coaches will go to great lengths to both support their fellow teams and find a recruiting advantage.
Michigan coach Brady Hoke was attempting to do both Tuesday night when he made an appearance in East Lansing to support the Michigan basketball team against rival Michigan State.
Hoke and Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio met and exchanged pleasantries before Hoke, defensive coordinator Greg Mattison and their wives ventured into a sea of white shirts and screaming fans.
As the game went on – and shifted in the Spartans favor – fans apparently directed their screaming toward Hoke.
Guess that’s to be expected when you sit in the heart of the student section.
