Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco is a Johnny Manziel fan

Johnny Manziel hasn’t made a lot of friends since winning the Heisman Trophy last December, but one NFL quarterback has taken a shine to college football’s most controversial quarterback.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco said he’s become a fan of Manziel and he likes him mostly because the rest of the country hates him.

"I don't know if I'll be too popular for this," Flacco told the Carroll County Times in Maryland. "But I don't know how I really felt about Johnny Manziel, but I feel like now everyone hates him. He's quickly becoming my favorite player in college football."

Flacco started talking about Manziel after he was asked about the negative reaction to his face being plastered all over Denver to promote the NFL season opener on Thursday.

Manziel didn’t do his reputation any favors this weekend. Despite completing 6-of-8 passes for 94 yards and three touchdowns against Rice, Manziel also taunted Rice players and got himself a 15-yard penalty – and ultimately benched – for talking smack.

Flacco, however, is fond of Manziel’s persona.

“Being hated is not a bad thing,” he said.
