Auburn defensive end Elijah Daniel is suspended indefinitely from the football team after his arrest on theft and burglary charges.
Daniel was booked on four theft of property charges ranging from first to third degree, including two third-degree charges, and four burglary charges ranging from second to third degree. His bond totals $24,000, according to online records.
Two of the theft charges and all four burglary charges are classified as felonies.
The site also said walk-on DeNorris James, who had joined the team in the spring, was also arrested on the same charges. More information about the arrests was not initially available.
According to a statement, coach Gus Malzahn is aware of the situation.
Daniel had 15 tackles and a sack in 2014 and is expected to be an important part of Auburn's defensive line in 2015. He was a four-star recruit according to Rivals and the No. 8 strongside defensive end in the country in 2013. He was the No. 2 prospect in the state of Indiana.
