Florida QB Treon Harris' accuser withdraws sexual battery complaint; Harris reinstated

The woman accusing Florida QB Treon Harris of sexual battery withdrew her complaint on Friday.

The school issued a statement confirming the complaint was withdrawn.

The student who accused Treon Harris of sexual battery has withdrawn her criminal complaint. This means she is not pursuing criminal charges against him at this time but maintains the right to do so in the future. The police report will be released when it is available. The UAA will have more information on his football status later in the day.

The university always will take swift and decisive action when we have concerns about the safety of our students.

Later Friday afternoon, Florida coach Will Muschamp announced that Harris has been reinstated to the team but will not play Saturday.

"We have been notified that the University and legal process is complete. Treon has been reinstated to the team, but he will not play Saturday. This has been a learning experience for everyone involved. Treon has been honest with me throughout the process and is looking forward to rejoining his teammates

Before Florida's statement, Harris' lawyer said that the woman had withdrawn her complaint and that the ball was in Florida's court.

Harris was suspended by the school on Monday after a woman accused him of sexual assault Sunday night. Harris played in the second half of Florida's comeback win against Tennessee on Saturday and many wondered if Harris would get the chance to start against LSU.

Huntley Johnson, Harris' attorney, released a statement Wednesday that said his client wasn't guilty. Johnson said that the woman, who is reportedly a Florida athlete and was with another Florida football player the same evening, initiated the contact.

As part of his suspension, Harris was barred from being on Florida's campus.
