YouTube sensation Christian Terrell commits to, where else, Dunk City

The most ideal match between player and school in the class of 2014 has to be Christian Terrell's decision to commit to Florida Gulf Coast on Wednesday afternoon.

Where else but the school known as Dunk City would be the right fit for the kid who threw down this incredible poster slam two weeks ago in a summer league scrimmage with his Jacksonville (Fla.) Providence High teammates?

Terrell, a 6-foot-2 rising senior, revealed his decision on Twitter, writing the hashtag "#committed" alongside a picture from Florida Gulf Coast's Sweet 16 run last March. Terrell is the first player new Florida Gulf Coast coach Joe Dooley has landed so far in the class of 2014.

Even though Terrell wasn't a household name before video of his dunk went viral and earned more than 1.2 million views on YouTube, his game includes more than just high-flying slams. He played alongside Duke commit Grayson Allen for Providence High last year, scoring 13 points in Florida's 3A state title game to help lead his team to a 62-56 victory.

Terrell reportedly held offers from a handful of small Division I programs in the Southeast including Appalachian State, Florida Atlantic and North Florida. Thankfully, he rebuffed those offers in favor of Florida Gulf Coast. It just wouldn't be right to see him leading a fast break in any other colors but Dunk City green and blue.
