Michigan’s Mitch McGary is obviously future head coach material

If he ever turns to coaching once his playing career is over, Mitch McGary may need to work on his inspirational messages.

The injured Michigan forward grabbed a whiteboard and scrawled a message to his teammates on it during a timeout late in the Wolverines' matchup with rival Michigan State on Saturday night. The amusingly simple message read: "Win the Game!"

To McGary's credit, his teammates did heed his advice. Nik Stauskas and Derrick Walton Jr. both scored 19 points and fellow guard Caris Levert had 17 as the Wolverines stormed back from an eight-point second-half deficit to win their third straight game against a top 10 opponent and seize first place in the Big Ten.

McGary hasn't played since undergoing season-ending back surgery four weeks ago, but it's clear the sophomore big man has found other ways to stay involved with the program. Suggested future McGary whiteboard messages: "Score more points than the other team," "Put the ball in the basket" and of course, "Don't lose."
