Only one round old, we've already got a peculiar trend bubbling up in this tournament. Players are developing a habit of sinking long-distance shots just before the buzzer of the first half.
It's great, but we'd love to see these deep threes fall when the score is tight and the game's on the line in the second half. Is it possible we're suffering from buzzer-beater fatigue? Nah.
We already showed you the incredible shot that Isaiah Thomas hit in Washington's game against Marquette, and last night Cal's Jerome Randle and Houston's Adam Brown added to the deep-shot showcase.
Send it in, Jerome.
And if you thought that was good, Look at the off-balance, falling-over-himself shot Brown gets off.
It looks like he's an avatar that's getting shut off just as the ball is released from his hands. Even better is the call by Tim Brando.
"At some point the Cougars are going to get it done."
Yes, Tim, I suppose they always do.
These are great, but as my mother used to tell my brothers and I whenever we'd get a bag of cookies: boys, save some for later.
