Arizona basketball team dedicates win to football coach Rich Rodriguez
The top-ranked Arizona basketball team dedicated its win at Michigan on Saturday to Arizona football coach Rich Rodriguez, who, ahem, used to coach at Michigan.
Rodriguez's days with Big Blue are ones he probably would rather forget and the feeling is mutual in Ann Arbor. In three seasons he went 15-22 overall and 6-18 in Big Ten games, never beating either Michigan State or Ohio State. He also was at the helm when NCAA violations occurred leading to three years of probation.
With all that in mind, it makes this post from the Wildcats official Twitter account after the victory Saturday seem like salt in the wound.
The official game ball goes to Coach Rich Rod for our win today #BearDown #ontothenextone

Maybe there is more to the story that we're simply not aware of. Perhaps Rodriguez spoke to the Wildcats before they left for Michigan and it inspired their victory. Maybe not.
