SportsDash: Team USA reveals … interesting Opening Ceremony gear

We've since passed through the season of ugly sweaters, but that isn't keeping Team USA from drawing inspiration from the old holiday standard for next week's Opening Ceremony in Sochi. Made in the United States by Ralph Lauren, the outfit will ensconce the country's Olympians in a red, white and blue knit cardigan with white pants, blue boots and a knit winter cap. Despite the criticism that the outfit is bound to elicit, no one can accuse the designer's of being short on patriotism.

SportsDash's Dave Briggs (@davebriggstv) takes a look at the interesting getup as well as it's exorbitant cost. All told, the worth of each athlete's clothes during the Opening Ceremony will be upwards of $2,200.
