It was a bittersweet night in the Bronx on Thursday as legendary closer Mariano Rivera said goodbye to his teammates, coaches and fans. In fitting fashion, Andy Pettitte and Derek Jeter went out to take the ball from Rivera with two outs in the ninth to allow the greatest closer of all time to receive one more ovation from the home crowd. Joe Girardi's broke down a little bit in his postgame press conference. Before managing, Girardi served as the Yankees backup catcher for four seasons.
