Baseball is a game of adjustments, especially at the plate. So needless to say, after nearly a month without a homer, the Nationals' Denard Span was in desperate need of a tweak to his offensive approach. More often than not, major leaguers make these adjustments after some time in the batting cage or the film room, but not Span. His changes came following a text message from his mom ... and it resulted in a trip around the bases.
