Another Pro Bowl is in the books, and PFT’s Mike Florio says that the players displayed just enough effort to make NFL commissioner Roger Goodell happy and keep the game on next season’s schedule. The commissioner threatened to eliminate the game due to a lack of effort, but Florio says that was never a real possibility. This year, the players played just hard enough to make it look like a competitive football game. If you look at the game carefully, though, Florio says the intensity wasn’t really there. He said this is especially evident during extra point attempts and that maybe that aspect of the game should be eliminated. The game will continue and the level of play will likely stay consistent with what was seen this year, which is not great but good enough to justify continuing with the annual all-star game.
