Every year as the draft approaches, headlines become overrun with news declaring certain prospects will rise and fall on draft boards. But as Mike Florio explains, this movement doesn’t really exist. Rather, it’s the media finally catching up with what teams, scouts and coaches already know about a specific player. Florio gives the example of Houston CB D.J. Hayden. The media has labeled him a ‘draft riser,’ but to teams with the intent of adding him on draft day, he has always been high on their draft boards.
