The Cowboys have hit a snag with the contract of Tony Romo. Mike Florio says once the QB’s contract expires next year, Dallas won’t be able to use their franchise tag on him. This present a problem if Romo makes it to the open market and receives a top-dollar offer, because that’s the price the Cowboys will have to match or risk losing their franchise QB. The only way to avoid this from happening is if Dallas and Romo come to terms on a contract extension – but Florio questions the validity and timing of this news.
