You know how Utahns — those are people who live in Utah, obviously — are always complaining that their state representatives are too short? Trust me, they are always saying that. I think it has something to do with how much they like Mark Eaton.
But no matter the reason, Utahns could have their giant representative very soon. All they have to do is vote for Shawn Bradley. Yep, that one.
"I had a lot of friends and people in the Legislature encourage me to run," said Bradley, a surprise candidate who filed just before the deadline Friday afternoon.
"This is something that I have thought about for a long time. But I had to be in the state for three years to qualify. Because I have been out of the state playing basketball, I only recently qualified," said Bradley, who now lives in Murray. "I've always been interested in politics, and I would like to make a difference in people's lives."
It makes sense that he'd run for state office. He's huge in Utah. Size zing!
Since retiring from the NBA in 2005, Bradley has been on staff at a private school in Utah. That means he's been in the state longer than three years. Hmmm, sounds fishy. Could this be Shawn Bradley's first official lie as a politician?
I'm joking, guys. Shawn Bradley seems like a good guy. If I lived in Utah, I'd definitely vote for him. In fact, I agree with these 10 guys — Shawn Bradley is a slam dunk candidate.
