Monta Ellis' son, Monta Jr., wins Jumbotron dance contest during Mavericks' win over Pelicans (Video)

We all know that Dallas Mavericks shooting guard Monta Ellis has a vast array of sweet moves on the basketball court. As it turns out, though, the slickness is not only hereditary, but also applicable off the hardwood. Behold:

This video comes to us from Saturday's Mavericks-New Orleans Pelicans contest, and the winner of the American Airlines Center's Jumbotron Dance Cam Contest is none other than Monta Ellis Jr., the Dallas guard's young son. It appears to have been a hotly contested dance battle, but I guess Saturday was just one of those nights where every Ellis male got the benefit of the doubt from the officials.

It will be interesting to see if Monta Jr. can defend his Dance Cam crown; after all, once you're at the top of the mountain, you're the dancer that every zealous young fan has his sights set on defeating. The Detroit Pistons come to Dallas in a couple of weeks; I'm not sure if the young dude who knocked off the Dancing Usher is traveling with the team yet, but if so, we could be in for a matchup for the ages. Let's keep our fingers crossed (while doing the Robot at our respective desks, naturally).

Hat-tips to Mavs Moneyball and The Starters.
