The NASCAR World Cup: David Ragan makes the final eight

Yes, you read that right. David Ragan. Ragan and crew chief Donnie Wingo made a nice call to stay out late in the race when the leaders pitted, and when a caution came out a few laps later, Ragan was able to keep that track position while he pitted and finished 11th.

His opponent, Clint Bowyer, pitted on both of those cautions and lost track position. He finished 13th.

AJ Allmendinger also scored an upset victory when bad luck struck Jeff Burton for what seems to be the umpteenth time in 2010. Burton ran into the back of Jeff Gordon when Gordon had a tire going down and damaged the front bumper so much that he wasn't competitive the rest of the way.
