Can Kurt Busch win all three races at Charlotte?

Kurt Busch needs a win to jump back into Chase contention and if he wins at Charlotte Motor Speedway Saturday night, he'd make history.

No driver has ever won all three races at Charlotte Motor Speedway in the same season and Busch won the All-Star Race and the Coca-Cola 600 in May.

Given his success at the other 1.5-mile tracks this year, it wagers that Busch has a decent shot. He won at the sprint at Atlanta and finished sixth there Labor Day Weekend and finished fourth at Texas Motor Speedway.

The closest a driver has gotten to doing the triple at CMS was in 2008, when Kasey Kahne won the All-Star Race, the Coca-Cola 600 and finished second in the fall race. He's one of five drivers who have won the first two races at Charlotte but not the third.

Davey Allison finished 19th in the fall in 1992, Dale Earnhardt finished third in the fall in 1993, Jeff Gordon finished fifth in the fall in 1997 and Jimmie Johnson finished third in 2003.

In 1986, Earnhardt won both points races at CMS but not the All-Star Race, a feat that Johnson duplicated in 2004 and Kahne repeated in 2006. Mark Martin won the All-Star Race and the fall race in 1986, but finished fourth in the 600.
