ISC and Kansas Speedway announced Tuesday that the Speedway would have two race dates for 2011.
The additional date for Kansas will be on June 5, while Kansas' original date will be moved back to the fourth race in the Chase on Oct. 9.
The Speedway is also constructing lights for the facility, and while they will be fully operational for the 2011 season, both races at Kansas will be daytime races. (And, presumably, noon starts if NASCAR stays with standard start times.)
The Speedway wouldn't confirm dates for the Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series races, except to say that both series will also be returning to the track. Currently, the Nationwide race is the weekend of Kansas' fall Cup race while the Truck Series shares a weekend in the spring with the IZOD IndyCar Series.
There's been much speculation about the IndyCar Series' future at Kansas and other ISC tracks, and ISC CEO Lesa France Kennedy said that it still hadn't been decided if the IndyCar Series would return.
